Uncertainty

We are now in a period of uncertainty, and there is a need to bear in mind four important things: 1) all water exploitation made by societies results in some decline in the quality of water; 2) over the past few years the scale and complexity of the water challenges faced by society are now well recognized; 3) only a minimum water on Earth is available for human consumption; and 4) in order to know the water cycle, and some of the impacts affecting it, we need to monitor water and natural systems in a long and short term and this makes the things more complex for our societies. So, without knowledge of the current global water cycle and how it will develop in the future, it will not be possible to survive.
